What’s in the NSW “Blue Book”?

COURSES What's in the Blue Book

This practical one-day course introduces the NSW Government “Blue Book” Managing Urban Stormwater: Soils and Construction (Landcom 2004) and shows participants how to use it to assess a site for Erosion and Sediment Control. The course provides participants with a clear understanding of what is in the “Blue Book”, the difference between an Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (ESCP) and a Soil and Water Management Plan (SWMP) and it presents a clear picture of how to assess a site for Erosion and Sediment Control.

In addition, participants will gain an understanding of RUSLE, the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation and how it is applied in the “Blue Book”, and how to manage and inspect a site for Erosion and Sediment Control. Each step in a systematic progression through the use of the “Blue Book” is accompanied by a worked example and hands-on exercise to provide participants with practice in using the “Blue Book” as they would do in assessment of a typical construction site.
